Leading Lines
A Technique I use when looking to photograph a landscape scene is leading lines. Leading lines are natural geometrical shapes that your eyes are drawn to. If you notice in the three pictures, the pathway “leads” your eyes to an imaginary focal point in the distance. Sometimes the lines can lead to the object of your picture. Try this the next time you are out with your camera, and train your eyes to look for the leading lines.
Port of Skagit Nature Trail, Skagit County, Washington
Travel Location
The Port of Skagit Nature Trails is a hiker friendly (mostly flat) place to visit. Located near Skagit Regional Airport, you can park at Josh Wilson Road and Higgins Airport Way. The trail is a network of gravel and pavement, and is wheel chair accessible. It has a variety of plants, trees, and wet-lands along the way. Cycling, hiking, and jogging is a must in this nature wonderland, dogs however, must be on a lease.
